Oshkosh Rotary Fellowship Program
To increase the opportunity for deserving and/or potential future leaders to have access to the benefit of Rotary, we have established a fellowship fund. The fund benefits two categories of participants: general and non-traditional, every six months (July – December and January to June). We have awarded 4 scholarships a year in these two categories, beginning in July 2004.
Criteria
A general fellowship is open to anyone (associated with a vocation, company, or organization) whom, the club believes, can make a significant service contribution to the community.
The non-traditional fellowship is designed to assist those individuals who may be unemployed, matriculating in graduate school, employed by a small business, and/or engaged in homemaking.
Costs
Each award covers the cost of meals for the fellows for a six-month period (or $210.00/each) and fellows will be expected to cover the cost of dues for a six-month period.
Method of Nominations
Any member of the Oshkosh Rotary Club can make nominations. Nominations should include:
- Name of Nominee
- Address
- Occupation
- Place of Employment/Vocation
- Telephone Numbers (home and work)
- A brief, statement signed by the nominator, explaining why the nominee should receive the fellowship and what his/her contributions will likely be in the service of the city of Oshkosh.
Nominations will be accepted the first of May (for the period July-December) and the first of November (for the fellowship period of January – June).
Award Selection
The Awards Committee will review and judge the nominations. The Award Committee will consist of the president of the club, three members of the board (one of whom should be the treasurer), and a general member of the club.
